ASCO NUMATICS: Intelligent Valve Manifold

The benefits of Foundation fieldbus can now be realized in an integrated modular pneumatic valve manifold system. With two modes of operation, the ASCO Numatics FF valve manifold can be used as a simple general purpose FF I/O unit with attached valves and discrete I/O modules; this mode allows control of 32 IN & 16 OUT.

Moreover, the valve diagnostic mode (valve monitoring system) allows simultaneous controls of 8 VMS single- or double-acting actuators with a single FF node. Integrated diagnostic capabilities include travel times, break times, lost position, cycle counter and auto calibration. These are reported back to Delta V and easily read via the AMS software’s built-in alarm functions.
