Emerson Process Management announced recently it has received a contract to replace aging controls for two 300-MW, combined-cycle blocks at the Bang Pakong Power Plant in Thailand. Bang Pakong, which employs two types of generating facilities – four conventional thermal power units and four combined-cycle blocks – has significantly reduced the country's dependence on imported oil by burning indigenous natural gas.
