At Labor, Budget Would Spend on Oversight, Cut Job Training

The Labor Department would see its 2012 budget shaved by 5% from its 2010 level under President Barack Obama's proposal, with cuts for job training offsetting increased spending for oversight of retirement benefits, workplace safety and pay.

Mr. Obama is proposing a budget of $12.82 billion for the agency, compared with an enacted budget of $13.55 billion in 2010.
