Garlock Strainer GasketsGarlock announces its line of strainer gaskets that provide an affordable way to remove particulates and debris from process fluids.

The new strainer gaskets are suitable for standard flanged connections and can be inserted upstream from sensitive and costly processing equipment. They may be deployed as a single filter or as a graduated system of several strainers that consume less space and at a lower cost than other methods like filtration cartridges.

Garlock strainer gaskets are available in a variety of gasket materials and thicknesses, including the widely specified BLUE-GARD® Style 3000. Stainless steel plain mesh weave is standard, in 20, 40, 50, 60 or 100 mesh, or are available with dual layers (i.e. 100 & 20 mesh) depending on your filtration requirements.

ASCO: Additional 362/562 Series Spool Valve Pipe Sizes

ASCO 362 562 Series Spool Valve Pipe SizesASCO has added to its 362 and 562 Series of brass and stainless steel spool valves by introducing 3/8-inch and 1/2-inch pipe sizes that feature the industry’s highest flow rates and low-power consumption. These new sizes provide design engineers with additional solutions for control valve automation, especially in the upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas markets.

The valves exceptionally high flow rates will enable original equipment manufacturers to use smaller piping and purchase lower cost valves while achieving the same flow specifications.

The ASCO 362 Series is a three-way valve made for single-acting process valve applications. The ASCO 562 Series is a four-way spool valve designed for double-acting process valves. The product lines are available in 1/4-inch, 3/8-inch, 1/2-inch, 3/4-inch, and 1-inch sizes.

Hunt Valve: Proportional Poppet Valve

Hunt Valve Proportional Poppet ValveHunt Valve has announced a new proportional poppet valve for descaling applications that lasts three to five times longer than traditional poppet valves. By eliminating the effects of water hammer and system shock, this innovative poppet valve technology promotes safety in the plant and cuts operating costs in half.

At steel mills, persistent water hammer in high-pressure piping systems often leads to burst pipes, cracked welds and descale header damage. Hunt Valve’s proportional poppet descale valve can be programmed to eliminate water hammer in the system. Typically, the speed is only reduced for the last 10 to 20% of the stroke, just before completely shutting off flow to the descale header. This slow rate of closure can be fine-turned via the integrated local control interface or programmable logic controller (PLC).
