Check-All Valve: EPIC Series

Check All EPIC Male PipeCheck-All Valve Mfg. Co. introduces a new check valve product offering. The EPIC™ series consists of in-line spring-loaded poppet-type check valves that are designed to be cost effective, simple, rugged and efficient while opera ting in any flow orientation. The EPIC™ is machined from 300 series stainless steel bar stock with Aflas® seat/seals and a 1/2-PSI stainless steel spring (cracking pressure). It is streamlined so that media flows through the valve over smooth, contoured surfaces with a minimum change in direction. The check valve al so achieves a high flow capacity and reduced pressure loss compared to other poppet style check valves of similar sized connections. These features minimize the pressure drop across the valve. The EPIC™ closes quickly and smoothly for silent operation and eliminates water hammer.

Additionally, the EPIC™ series incorporates a replace able drop-in check mechanism (Replaceable Insert Kit sold separately) that is easily installed into the existing body without requiring additional assembly of separate checking components. This pre-assembled complete check mechanism eliminates the need to assemble individual checking components, creating an efficient and economical method of effectively rebuilding the entire check mechanism, if an application requires.

Curtiss-Wright: New Changeover Valve from Farris Engineering

Curtiss Wright Changeover ValveCurtiss-Wright’s Industrial Division has launched a new changeover valve from its brand family of Farris Engineering. Designed in conjunction with their sister business, Phönix, and sold under the Farris name, the optimized change over valve is a three-way globe valve used in combination with Farris pressure relief valves wherever a shutdown cannot be tolerated.

Changeover valves enable pressurized systems to be equipped with dual relief devices, allowing for maintenance to the relief devices without interrupting system overpressure protection. For critical services, a second change over unit can be added at the outlet of the relief valves allowing for collection of toxic or aggressive effluent into a closed collection system.

Conval, a global leader in high-performance valves for the world's most demanding applications, offers Clampseal Throttling Valves for severe service applications that require repeatable flow control and dependable shut-off. The valves are available in ½” through 4” sizes through ASME Class 4500. Standard forging materials include SA 105, SA 182-F22, SA 182-F91, SA 182-F92, and SA 182-F316.

The venturi is an integral part of the removable seat. Both the seat and the stem assembly are easily changed in-line should flow characteristics be required or replacement necessary from excessive corrosion or erosion. The orifice is sized to keep fluid velocity across the seat below damaging levels. The exit orifice angle is designed to minimize downstream piping erosion and noise.

The simple and effective pressure seal bonnet provides ready access for servicing with no welds to cut or seal rings or gaskets to replace. The body-to-bonnet joint integrity is maintained through countless thermal cycles. The durable single-piece stainless steel gland contributes to the longevity of the valve.
