Valve Basics Online Training Program to Debut Late Summer
By the end of 2013, VMA projects that nearly 1,000 people will have attended one of the association’s Valves & Actuators 101 seminars, which launched in late 2009. While that is a formidable number, there are many thousands of individuals in the U.S., Canada and around the world who would benefit from this entry-level training, but are unable to attend one of the live seminars. With the launch of VMA’s new VBOT (Valve Basics Online Training) in late August, this popular course will be available to all, 24/7.
The program consists of individual lessons on the following topics: overview of the industry; multi-turn, check, quarter-turn and pressure-relief valves; actuators—pneumatic & hydraulic and electric; and control valves & systems. Each lesson ends with a short quiz, and once a certain number of questions are answered correctly, the program allows the user to move on to the next lesson. Upon completion, a certificate of completion is awarded.
