Creating a Valve Standard Pays Off

While creating a control valve sizing standard at Cargill Grain and Oilseeds was a very people-intensive exercise, the benefits have shown to be worth the effort. Once the standard was fully implemented, the company has been able to lower capital costs by reducing engineering time for each project and by leveraging standardization to obtain better rates on new valves.


Smartphones and Tablets Increasingly Used to Visit VMA's websites

It wasn't that long ago that visitors to VALVEmagazine.com viewed the site exclusively from their desktop and laptop computers. But website analytics over the last couple of years show increasingly larger numbers are visiting VALVEmagazine on their smartphones and tablet computers. For instance, during the past six months, compared to the previous six months, visitors using mobile devices have increased 108%; and up 67% for tablets. Similar trends have been observed on VMA's website, VMA.org. And which devices are most often used? As you might expect, Apple's iPhone and iPad are far ahead of the rest of the pack.
