New Standard for Globe Valves
The first standard published for globe valves came out in 2013. API 623, “Steel Globe Valves—Flanged and Buttwelding Ends, Bolted Bonnets” covers valves from 2-24 inches in ANSI classes 150 through 2500.

VMA Distributor Membership Grows
The Valve Manufacturers Association (VMA) has just added its fifth distributor/channel partner member. Last year, the VMA membership overwhelmingly approved a change in the bylaws to expand the Associate Membership category to include distributors/channel partners serving the industrial valve, actuator and control industry, if they meet certain criteria. Five companies have joined under this new category: Classic Controls, DistributionNOW (NOV Wilson), MRC Global, Setpoint Integrated Systems and Sunbelt Supply.
