Weather Doesn’t Stop VMA Leaders

The winter storm that made plane schedules and road trips a nightmare in much of the North and mid-Atlantic areas of the United States last week did not dampen the spirits of those who attended the Valve Industry Leadership Forum March 22-23 in Arlington, VA. ITR senior analyst Alex Chausovsky started his presentation on an optimistic note by pointing out that 2018 has been a positive year so far. He went on to report that the economic “winds of change” mean a likely slowing of growth over the next year to year-and-a-half, but that the economy would bounce back by 2020. He warned companies and individuals they should be focusing on long-term steps to prepare for the hardships predicted to hit by about 2030. Attendees also heard the latest on the oil and gas markets, how the Industrial Internet of Things will affect manufacturing going forward, the latest on fugitive emissions standards and more. MORE
