Deadline for Valve Repair Meeting Approaches

The last day to take advantage of the reduced rate at the Sheraton Houston Brookhollow, site of the VRC's 2018 Valve Repair Meeting, Tour & Exhibits, is May 21. The meeting itself takes place June 6-8.

Held every other year, the conference is open to members of the Valve Repair Council and Valve Manufacturers Association, as well as non-members. It’s a popular event because it focuses specifically on the latest trends, standards and technology available in the repair and replacement markets for valves and related equipment. Attendees hear presentations from industry leaders, participate in three networking events with industry suppliers in the exhibit hall and tour several repair facilities.

A full schedule and information is available on VMA's website. MORE

What's Behind the Heat

Heat treatment is a vague term most people find mysterious. Yet this treatment is a vital step in preparing metallic valve and piping components for duty. Summer’s issue explains the reasons for what’s done, the different types of treatments used, and the standards and procedures that are followed.

In Spring you read about:

The Past, Present and Future of Fire Testing

Because so many applications where valves are used face potentially combustive situations, testing with flames and fire is a critical part of the design process. The spring issue addressed what’s done today, what standards are involved, and how the testing and standards are changing. MORE
