Council to Consider Fisher Proposals

The Marshalltown, IA City Council will consider a couple of requests from Fisher Controls for improvements around the company's property in the downtown area.

Fisher Controls would like to landscape a median area on South Center Street between Boone and Linn streets. This is between their two buildings downtown.

Flowserve’s Cookeville Facility Receives Nuclear Quality Assurance Level 1 Qualification

Flowserve Corp. announced that its Cookeville, Tennessee plant has achieved Nuclear Quality Assurance Level 1 qualification.

This qualification enables Flowserve’s valves to be used in the cleanup, or remediation, of contaminated facilities. The contaminants are collected and pumped to facilities where the vitrification process concentrates and fuses the radioactive materials into impermeable glassy solids, which can then be stored safely for thousands of years as the isotopes decay and ultimately become harmless.

Jurors Back Bonds for Cameron Expansion

Lonnie Bewley told the Evangeline Parish Police Jury on Monday that Cameron International aims to have its multimillion-dollar expansion project on line by the end of 2009.

Louisiana will contribute more than $7 million to the major expansion of Cameron’s Valve manufacturing facility at the Ward 1 Industrial Park near Ville Platte.
