Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Acquires Northeast Technology Corporation

Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Company announced today that it has acquired all of the stock of Northeast Technology Corporation (NETCO) and an exclusive worldwide license of the NETCO Snap-In technology for a total of $3.5 million in cash. NETCO provides engineering analysis, software development, laboratory testing services and in-plant testing, and specializes in spent fuel management for the nuclear power industry.

Valve Problem Shuts Indian Point

A reactor at the Indian Point nuclear power plant in Buchanan, NY has been shut down because of a valve problem.

Entergy Nuclear says Indian Point 3 was safely turned off at 1:53 a.m. Friday with no release of radiation.

The issue centered on a valve that controls the flow of water into a steam generator.

Emerson Acquires Scientific Instruments' Wet Chemistry Analyzer Product Line

Emerson announced it has acquired the online wet chemistry analyzers product line of Hawthorne, New York-based SI Industrial Instruments, Inc. (dba Scientific Instruments) for use in the power and water treatment markets. The Scientific Instruments product line becomes part of Emerson Process Management, expanding its Rosemount Analytical solutions.

Frank R. Jimenez to Join ITT as General Counsel

ITT Corporation announced the appointment of Frank R. Jimenez as general counsel. His nomination to become a vice president of ITT will be presented to the company's board of directors on May 12. Jimenez, 44, was previously general counsel of the Navy, where he led a global office of nearly 850 staff as chief legal and ethics officer.

Emerson Process Management to Host Alternative Fuels/Biorefinery Summit

Emerson Process Management will host the third in its series of regional summits across the United States to address recommendations to help drive the successful commercialization of alternative fuels, specifically second-generation biofuels. The next Emerson Alternative Fuels/BioRefinery Summit will be Thursday, May 28, in Atlanta, followed by a summit in Houston later this summer.
