Crane Co. Acquires Delta Fluid Products

Crane Co. announced that it had purchased all of the capital stock of Delta Fluid Products Limited, a leading designer and manufacturer of regulators and fire safe valves for the gas industry, and safety valves and air vent valves for the building services market, for a purchase price of approximately $28 million in cash on a debt free basis.

VanAire Names New Leader

Mike Sanville has been named chief executive officer of VanAire, a Gladstone manufacturing company. The appointment comes four months after the unexpected death of company founder and former president and CEO, Richard "Dick" VandeVusse.

The company's leadership team, led by Beverly VandeVusse, president of VanAire since husband Richard VandeVusse's death, said Friday Sanville was the right choice.

Tyco International Increases Quarterly Dividend 33% to 20 Cents per Share

Tyco International Ltd. announced that its Board of Directors approved an increase in the company's quarterly dividend to 20 cents per share for the first quarter of fiscal 2009. The new quarterly dividend represents a 33% increase over the current quarterly dividend of 15 cents and follows a 36% dividend increase announced in September 2007.

American International Industries Announces Definitive Asset Purchase Agreement With Shumate Industries

American International Industries, Inc. and Shumate Industries, Inc. announced that they have signed the Asset Purchase Agreement, whereby AMIN has agreed to purchase the assets of Shumate Machine Works Corporation, a subsidiary of SHMT, for approximately $6.7 million in cash. The closing of the proposed transaction is scheduled for October 1, 2008, subject to certain closing conditions.

Thieves Steal Thousands of Dollars in Valves

An Exeter company is out nearly $3,000 in metal valves and stems after thieves struck an orchard near Visalia.

Ranch manager Wes Blake told a deputy that sometime between 3 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Tuesday, an unknown person removed 35 2-inch Red Valves with brass stems and 133 3-inch Red Valves and Fresno Valves from three blocks of orchards in the area.
