SPX Revenues up 29% in Second Quarter

SPX Corporation's second quarter revenues increased 28.8% to $1.56 billion from $1.21 billion in the year-ago quarter. Organic revenue growth was 3.7%, while completed acquisitions and the impact of currency fluctuations increased reported revenues by 20.6% and 4.5%, respectively.

Parker Hannifin Announces Executive Promotions

Parker Hannifin Corporation announced the promotion of Dana A. Dennis to Senior Vice President - Finance, and Jon P. Marten to Vice President and Corporate Controller, following their appointment by the company's Board of Directors.

Parker today also announced other executive promotions. Lee C. Banks, Robert P. Barker, and Thomas L. Williams have each been named Executive Vice President and Operating Officer.

The Weir Group Reports Higher Orders, Revenues Than 2007

The Weir Group's 2008 first half order input of £734 mln was 32% above the prior year period, and revenues from continuing operations increased 46% to £632 mln. Order input for the Power & Industrial division, which includes the valve group, grew 52% to £158 mln.

The world market for industrial valves will reach approximately $56 billion by 2012 according the McIlvaine Company online report Industrial Valves: World Market. Compared to 2007 estimates of $45 billion, this figure represents worldwide growth just short of 25 per cent over the next five years.
