Cameron Reaches 3-Year Agreement With MaxTorque

Cameron announces a three-year partnership agreement with MaxTorque, LLC to supply their gear operators for Cameron’s pipeline ball valves.

“Incorporating MaxTorque’s high performance gears into our portfolio allows us to offer a valve package that has unique features and benefits that specifically meet our customers’ needs,” said Willy Findlay, President of the Engineered Valves Division. “This agreement will allow us to offer a differentiated product that can be specified and sold on a value basis.”

“We are excited at the opportunity to partner with a company that has Cameron’s reputation and position in the market place,” Patrick West, CEO of MaxTorque said. “It is an ideal fit for both companies. We are combining technology and quality to create the most competitive package available.”

Metso Acquires MAPAG Valves GmbH in Germany

Metso Automation and the Linde Group have signed a purchase agreement regarding MAPAG Valves GmbH, a manufacturing company of high performance butterfly valves for the petrochemical, air separation and liquefied natural gas (LNG) industries. The enterprise value is 36 million euros.

Curtiss-Wright Announces Admiral (Ret.) James Busey Retires From Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of Curtiss-Wright Corporation announced that Admiral (Ret.) James B. Busey IV, 75, is retiring as a board member of the company after 13 years of service.  

Admiral Busey compiled a distinguished 37-year career in the U.S. Navy, during which he rose to the position of commander-in-chief of U.S. Naval Forces in Europe and commander-in-chief of Allied Forces in Southern Europe, a NATO Command, from 1987 to 1989.

SPX Reports First Quarter 2008 Results

Flow Technology revenues for the first quarter of 2008 were $504.0 million compared to $250.7 million in the first quarter of 2007, an increase of $253.3 million, or 101.0%. The increase was due primarily to the fourth quarter 2007 acquisition of APV, which contributed $227.0 million of revenues during the quarter. Additionally, organic revenue growth was 4.7% in the quarter, driven primarily by strong demand in the power, oil and gas, and sanitary markets.

Rotork Sees Good Levels of Growth for H1, FY

Rotork Plc. said it expects good levels of growth for both the first half and the full year, adding first-quarter order intake rose 25 percent from the same period of last year.  

At the end of March, the engineering group said its order book rose to 125 million pounds, up 28 percent from Dec. 31 2007.
