CPV Manufacturing Hires New Sales, Engineering Positions

CPV Manufacturing has named Jay H. Loomis as vice president of sales. Loomis will be responsible for the expansion and development of CPV’s sales team. Prior to joining CPV, Loomis was a national account manager at Airgas USA. His sales and account management experience spans three decades.

CPV has also named Robert Cardona as director of engineering. Cardona will be responsible for managing the engineering team and for overseeing all engineering projects. Most recently he was a senior engineer at Productive Plastics. Cardona has four patents under his belt and played a significant role in the design of systems and components for the Aegis Radar System. 

Flo-Tite Valves & Controls Joins VMA

This week the Valve Manufacturers Association of America (VMA) welcomed Flo-Tite Valves & Controls of Lumberton, NC, the third new VMA member of 2018.

Flo-Tite Inc. is a manufacturer of high quality ball valves and actuation equipment. Its products range from standard commercial type ball valves to high-pressure metal seated control valves. Flo-Tite maintains an inventory of standard valves in carbon, stainless steel and alloy 20. 

ValvTechnologies Names John Furfey Industry Director, Oil and Gas

ValvTechnologies, Inc. has appointed John Furfey as industry director, oil and gas. Based in Houston, Furfey has global management responsibility for ValvTechnologies’ upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas activities worldwide as well as long-term vision strategies for development and growth in the severe service market.

Furfey brings more than 30 years of extensive valve industry and global sales experience to the company. Most recently, he served as director of partner accounts at Schlumberger. Furfey also held numerous leadership positions at Cameron Valves and Measurement. Earlier in his career, he served as vice president of sales and marketing energy group at PCC Flow Technologies. 

Rotork Supplying Irish Water for Penstock Upgrade

As part of a major modernization program at the Kilkit Water Treatment Plant, Irish Water has installed Rotork actuators at its County Monaghan, Ireland site. Rotork has been chosen to automate inlet penstocks, in a contract awarded by Coffey Water Ltd.

The penstock project is part of a contract for Irish Water to upgrade the Lough Egish Regional Water Supply which will see a €4.5 million investment in the plant to benefit approximately 12,000 consumers in County Monaghan. Once completed the upgraded treatment plant will have an increased design output of 5.5 million liters per day which will ensure that current water demands can be met, with capacity to meet future development needs. 

Siemens Announces Acquisition of Enlighted Inc.

Siemens Building Technologies Division is acquiring Enlighted Inc., a provider of smart IoT (Internet of Things) systems in buildings, headquartered in Silicon Valley. Both parties have agreed not to disclose financial details. Closing is expected in the third quarter of 2018. Enlighted will be managed as an independent legal entity and wholly-owned subsidiary of Siemens Industry, Inc.

Enlighted makes smart sensors, securely streaming data to the cloud. In addition, the IoT platform enables reduced energy use, improved space utilization, better environmental management and greater asset utilization.
