The modular nature of the latest Rotork Pakscan P3 master station now allows the user to have the choice of a fully wired loop for control and monitoring, a fully wireless control and monitoring system or wired control with wireless monitoring.

Utilizing the internationally accepted 2.4GHz frequency the Pakscan P3 wireless network card gives the user access to all the standard data available from the wired Pakscan system, together with the diagnostic and asset management information stored by Rotork actuator data logger and configuration files. It allows easy extraction of these files, which up until now have only been downloadable locally, using hand held tools.

  • The Rationale Behind Valve Characteristics

Back in the “early days,” we were taught that, to properly control flow, we should select a linear valve characteristic when the valve controls more than 25% of the piping system pressure drop at full flow.

  • Valve Basics: Electric Actuator Controls

Electric valve actuators control the opening and closing of valves. With a motor drive that provides torque to operate the valve, these actuators are frequently used on multi-turn valves such as gate or globe and also on ball, plug and other quarter-turn valves.

When selecting control valves, be sure to properly evaluate the process conditions to identify potential issues and select the proper management techniques.
