The unique design provides varied and predictable air flow over a wide range of air release conditions. A large diameter Air/Vacuum Disc provides high volume air flow for rapid venting during pipeline filling and allows high volumes of air to enter the pipeline during draining. During normal pipeline flow conditions, the dual-range air release design prevents air build up and resultant flow restrictions under changing conditions and through the full flow range.

Chesteron Polymer Labyrinth SealThe Polymer Labyrinth Seal from the A.W. Chester Company is designed to provide improved sealing performance in splash applications for bearing and gearbox protection. This high performance non-contact design eliminates fretting caused by conventional lip seals and helps to reduce maintenance costs associated with premature bearing and gearbox failures.

The unitized, non-contacting 3-piece labyrinth design includes a rotor, a stator and a built-in valve with no wearing parts. While in operation lubricant is contained within the labyrinth and flows back into the bearing housing while outside contaminants are excluded, by centrifugal force and gravity, and redirected through a relief port back to atmosphere.
