Garlock Sealing Technologies announces the addition of a Non-Sparking, Conveyor Roller Bearing Isolator.
The innovative products program directly addresses the replacement of plastic and rubber seals that could lead to sparking or eventual fire and costly bearing damage. The GUARDIAN non-sparking design prevents the failure mode by virtue of its design; non-contacting labyrinth design with easy to install Cam-Lok o-rings. The MSHA innovative product posting says “Bearings are typically designed to last 20 years or more, but very seldom do, mostly because they are not adequately protected.” “The GUARDIAN, with its IEEE 841-2001 IP56 rating, ensure proper bearing protection by eliminating both dust and liquid from entering the bearing housing,” says Earl Rogalski, senior product manager for Garlock.
“GUARDIAN bearing isolators are used throughout the world in applications ranging from benign to extremely aggressive conditions. With the addition of the MSHA innovative product listing, we fully expect users to begin converting from the older consumable and unstable products to the safer, longer lasting GUARDIAN technology.” GUARDIAN bearing isolators are available in sizes that range from 0.875” to well over 30”, split or solid, flanged and flangeless and even bearing pillow block configurations.
