Siemens CEO Discusses Advanced Manufacturing “Renaissance”

“We need the engineers, we need the innovators, we need the science technology engineering [type of] people to work out there in those plants.

Spiegel describes advanced manufacturing as “real manufacturing and the virtual manufacturing coming together.” NASA using Siemens software to simulate the Mars Rover landing, for instance, is a prime example.

“Don’t just sit back and expect because you’re smart and you’re going to a good school, people are going to hire you. There are millions of kids around the world, and this has become a global marketplace. You’ve [got to] stand out in some way.”
