Petrobras, the Brazilian company that most notably built Petrobras 36, is building a new platform with a capacity to process 180,000 barrels of oil and 7.2 million cubic meters of gas per day. The FPSO-type platform is a floating unit that produces, stores and transfers oil, and the delivery is scheduled for 2025. SAIPEM & DSME had been awarded a $2.3 billion contract for the supply of P-79 to be installed in Búzios field, in the Santos Basin pre-salt area. In the development of the EPC, SAIPEM awarded Baker Hughes over 250 Consolidated Pressure Relief Valves including high pressure API 10/15k valves.
“We are thrilled to continue to support customers such as Petrobras, who are looking for full portfolio solutions that include over 250 safety relief valves for offshore usage, including valves designed for API 10,000 PSI pressure rating. Our full line of products and manufacturing test capabilities have allowed us to offer full solutions to customers looking for the latest advances in over-pressure protection,” states Matt Byers, senior product line leader for Consolidated Pressure Relief Valves.
The acquisition strengthens Cashco’s product breadth across pressure/vacuum relief, flame arresting and gas blanketing.
