The city of Chandler, Ariz. is considering a proposal that would make it more difficult for new data centers to open in the city. While the region ranked third nationally for data center construction in the first half of 2021, city staffers and elected leaders say data centers aren’t sustainable, don’t generate quality jobs and produce noise that disturbs residents.
Developers that want to build new data centers in Chandler, Ariz. will face a lengthier and more rigorous approval process.
Effective immediately, CMEI will be divided into three pillars, each of which will be led by a corresponding Deputy Assistant Secretary.
