Velan released a design upgrade to its delayed coker isolation valves that features targeted purging technology and other design upgrades. A newly added lower tangential purge directs steam precisely to areas where coke accumulates in stagnant cavities, creating a loop‑flow around the ball for improved cleaning efficiency with a nonplugging purge design. This field‑proven, targeted approach, combined with Velan’s one‑piece ball and stem, robust bellows and scraper‑type seats, delivers optimized purge performance, improved reliability and long‑term service life, helping refiners minimize fouling and simplify maintenance in severe coking service while maintaining very low steam consumption. velan.com
